2003 Pinot Noir
Strong vibrant colour of dark ruby, looking very youthful. The bouquet is unmistakably Pinot; intense with a complex spectrum of earth, forest floor, dark plum and dark berries. There are hints of beetroot, violets, black pepper, aniseed and spice with tones of cedar and dusty oak. The palate maps to the complex bouquet, with rich fruit and lots of secondary characters. Intense and persistent, with a long finish, the wine is very textured. While drinking well now, there is a lot in this wine that suggests it will evolve over many years.
2003 Chardonnay
Pale/light straw with sparkling clarity. Strong varietal bouquet, rich yet restrained showing white peach, nectarine and lime/grapefruit – signs of cool climate balanced ripeness. There are further complex tones of orange peel/blossom, toast, honey, cashew and lees. It has good palate weight and soft, creamy texture – showing restrained fruit generosity up front that builds across the mid palate where the acidity melds in and builds to a long lingering finish, with recurring waves. Hints of spice and earth, together with top quality oak reside quietly in the background, supporting the intensity and persistence of a wine that will age for 8 plus years.
2002 Pinot Noir
Shows a strong colour of deep ruby, with good clarity even though filtering was kept to a minimum. The bouquet has layers of dark berries and cherries with meaty, gamey, forest floor characters. Abundant, rich, ripe plum on entry, opening to a more savoury mid-palate and finish. Full bodied Pinot with intensity, complexity and persistent length that is drinking superbly now but will age very well.

2002 Chardonnay

Pale lemon yellow colour. A concentrated bouquet of smoky bacon, oatmeal and ripe stonefruits enhanced with a touch of nectarine, bosc pear and honeydew melon. The underlying elements of oak and yeast lees characters add further richness and character. This is a very, very good wine, which deserves at least two more years in bottle to reach its peak.
